I’m an intensive care nurse and love it when we either get patients dogs in or take the patient outside to see their Crown Royal Halloween Spirit Shirt. Absolutely melts my heart. Even if they are on a ventilator if the patient is alert and its possible we make it work. The joy it brings is worth all the hard work and then some. I’m not at all surprised by this story, although I am very happy for this man and his dog. I hope they are reunited soon and I would wager that this man’s psychological and physical suffering will be reduced dramatically. When a person is suffering from a chronic painful disease, having their pet lay by their side actually reduces the anxiety that accompanies their disease.
